Benefits

It delivers a combination of thermal protection and transparency for deployment in innovative applications.

Our PICASUS™ IR thermal barrier film is a film made of thin resin layers of nanometer thickness, which achieves both high thermal barrier properties and high transparency. It is metal-free and has high radio transmission, which contributes to the realization of high-performance windows.

Features

Combining high thermal insulation and high transparency

High infrared (heat ray) reflection performance, which is expected to have a thermal barrier effect. By maintaining transparency, it is possible to reduce heat gain by 45-49% while keeping cabin temperature under control and ensuring visibility.

Excellent radio transmission

Because of the metal-free layer structure, it does not interfere with the antenna function of communication equipment.

Glass-like transparency

The visible light area has a high transmittance and is not colored.

Use Cases

#01

Improved range with reduced air conditioning power consumption

It effectively reflects infrared light to reduce the increase in cabin temperature. This reduces air conditioning usage and conserve EV battery charge.

#02

Reduced temperature rise of the sunroof

When applied to sunroofs, which are highly susceptible to solar heat, the film dramatically reduces heat ingress from direct sunlight.

#03

Excellent radio
transmission for device communication

It is metal-free and does not interfere with radio waves. This will also contribute to improved navigation accuracy and improved response of in-vehicle communication devices.
